Most travel companies hide their prices behind a "request a quote" wall. We will quote you precisely once your journey is designed, because every journey is genuinely different — but we flatly refuse to leave you in the dark about the rough order of magnitude beforehand. So this page is honest about how our pricing works, what shapes it, and the indicative cost of the three journey families. A designed private journey is not cheap, and we would far rather tell you that plainly up front than waste your time with a tempting figure that was never real. What follows is the honest version, in the order we wish every travel company would present it.
These are per-person guide prices for a private journey, assuming two travelling together, in euros. They are starting points, not fixed packages — your actual figure depends on length, season, the stays you choose, the size of your party and how far off the beaten track you go. We quote the exact total once the journey is designed.

So there are no surprises at all, here is what a journey price typically includes and what sits outside it, set out as plainly as we can manage.

Because you are paying for design, pacing and people, not for a bus seat. A hand-built private journey with guides we know costs more than a high-volume coach tour, and it should. If price is the deciding factor, a package will be cheaper, and we will say so honestly.
Yes — tell us the real figure at the start. We would far rather design within an honest budget than present something you cannot afford. We can shape length, stays and pace to fit, and we will tell you frankly if a budget will not stretch to what you are picturing.
The indicative figures assume two travelling together. Solo travel costs more per person, because the guide and car are not shared; larger private groups cost less per head. We quote your exact figure once we know the size and shape of the party. Tell us through the contact page.
A deposit confirms the journey once the design is agreed, with the balance before travel on a clear written schedule. We invoice clearly, itemise where it helps you understand the cost, and never add a hidden margin to third-party costs like entry fees, which we pass through at cost. The handling of your payment details is on the privacy page.
No. We are not paid to steer you to a particular shop, cruise line or hotel. That independence is the whole reason our recommendations are worth anything, and we guard it carefully.
We set out cancellation terms clearly in writing before you pay anything, and they are fair rather than punitive — the deposit covers the bookings we have already had to secure on your behalf, and beyond that we refund what can honestly be refunded. We do not use cancellation as a profit centre, and we will always tell you exactly where you stand. We also strongly recommend travel insurance, which covers the things no operator's policy can.
Because we do not sell fixed packages — every journey is genuinely different in length, pace, stays and route, so a single headline price would be a fiction. The indicative day rates above give you an honest order of magnitude; the exact figure comes once your journey is designed. We think that is more honest than a tempting low number that never survives contact with what you actually want.
Once the design is agreed and you decide to proceed, a deposit confirms the journey and secures the guides, vessels and stays in your dates — the things that get booked up. The balance is due before you travel, on a clear schedule we set out in writing. We invoice plainly and itemise where it helps you understand what you are paying for, and we never add a hidden margin on top of third-party costs like museum entry fees, which we pass through at cost. There is no deposit you lose to an unexplained "administration fee", and no figure that quietly grows between the quote and the final invoice.
Because every journey is genuinely bespoke, we give you the exact total once the itinerary is settled, not a teaser figure that balloons later. If anything changes during planning — you add days, swap a stay, bring another traveller — we tell you the cost effect before you commit to it. The whole approach is built so that the price you agree is the price you pay, which is the same honesty we apply to coverage and recommendations everywhere else on this site. How your payment details are handled is set out on the privacy page.
An honest figure at the start makes for a better journey at the end, and a relationship built on trust from the very first conversation.
